Holiday work - Part 1: Understanding the ‘The Elderly Challenge’

1) Housing for Seniors: Elder-Friendly Housing
Provide cheaper houses for the elderly so that thy still can stay in their house without having to move out.

Accessibility for Seniors: Barrier-Free Society
Making Singapore a place that is accessible for everyone in Singapore, even the elderly, so that they can be independent.

Caring for Seniors: Holistic Affordable Healthcare and Eldercare
Give the elderly 'discounts' so that they can also pay for their own expenses.

Opportunities for Seniors: Active Lifestyles and Well-being
Have more activities for the elderly so that they can be healthy and can interact and socialize like the other Singaporeans do.

2) It states that the Government should consider specific measures to facilitate the development of retirement housing by the private sector, in particular, varying the length of land leases to lower land costs, to cater to seniors who desire such lifestyles.

3) We can give 'discounts' to them for medial and other important necessary purposes.

The Government should promote family physicians to provide first-line medical care for seniors in need of end-of-life care.

4) I can help to tell others about these issues and help to work on them.

I could make a product to help elderly.

I could help any elderly I see.

Auto Animations

This is a Rubik cube solving itself it only took 5 minutes.

This is an animation of a bionicle smashing into a turret and the turret disintegrates and rebuilds itself, like in some cartoons.

This is just to see how animation can make things come to life. Those outriggers are part of another project.

Bouncing BALLZ

This is what me and my group have done for the animation class on the previous ADMT lesson. We managed to make the ball bounce nicely but the video was a little bit short though.©

LEGO® Minifig Animation

This animation is my first LEGO® Minifig animation but not my first LEGO® animation. It is about a LEGO® Minifig sneaking into Chemistry Lab and firing a cannon in the Chemistry Lab. This destroys a vehicle in the Chemistry Lab. The Minifig tries to escape but fails as his purple Chemistry Teacher appears in front of him and whacks his head with his staff. The Minifig disappears and his Chemistry Teacher whacks the ground and the debris disappear too. The animation ends. It took 1+ hour(s) to complete. This video is ©.

NEWater Personal Recount

After visiting the NEWater plant today, I learnt that NEWater is mainly for industrial use, is purified through three stages and about the four 'taps'. NEWater is used mainly for industrial purposes as the NEWater is extremely clean and by doing this, there is less drinking water that is used for industrial needs. I learnt that of the three stages, only the first two are more important but the last one is to ensure Singaporeans that the NEWater is safe to drink. I learnt a few concepts today, two of them are that water molecules are smaller than viruses, bacteria and minerals and the second one is that strong ultraviolet rays can kill living things. One interesting thing that I learnt from the NEWater visit today is how the water is suck up the pipes in the first stage. The pumps have to reverse sometimes. I could be a NEWater ambassador to tell others to use less water and convince them that NEWater is safe. I could tell people to use 140 liters of water a day to reduce water consumption in Singapore.

The fourth picture has my mother giving a red-packet to my cousin.
Fifth picture has most of my paternal relatives.
The sixth picture is how the Yusheng looked like at first.
Seventh picture has the Yusheng after the mixing.
The last picture has a Korean dish that my parents learnt how to make. It is was eaten at my neighbors house and it is some Korean rice cakes.
