Holiday work - Part 1: Understanding the ‘The Elderly Challenge’

1) Housing for Seniors: Elder-Friendly Housing
Provide cheaper houses for the elderly so that thy still can stay in their house without having to move out.

Accessibility for Seniors: Barrier-Free Society
Making Singapore a place that is accessible for everyone in Singapore, even the elderly, so that they can be independent.

Caring for Seniors: Holistic Affordable Healthcare and Eldercare
Give the elderly 'discounts' so that they can also pay for their own expenses.

Opportunities for Seniors: Active Lifestyles and Well-being
Have more activities for the elderly so that they can be healthy and can interact and socialize like the other Singaporeans do.

2) It states that the Government should consider specific measures to facilitate the development of retirement housing by the private sector, in particular, varying the length of land leases to lower land costs, to cater to seniors who desire such lifestyles.

3) We can give 'discounts' to them for medial and other important necessary purposes.

The Government should promote family physicians to provide first-line medical care for seniors in need of end-of-life care.

4) I can help to tell others about these issues and help to work on them.
